Luiza Helena Trajano is Chairman of the Board of Directors of Magazine Luiza. Graduated in Law and Business Administration, she is responsible for the development of the Group. When she took over the company’s superintendence, she was responsible for the innovation and growth leap that Magazine Luiza made in the following decades among the largest retailers in Brazil. She also works as a counselor in 12 different entities such as ICC (International Chamber of Commerce), CDES – Federal Government Economic and Social Development Council, IDV – Institute for Retail Development, FIESP – Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo and Consultative Group of the UN Population Fund in Brazil. In 2018 she was Co-chair of the World Economic Forum on Latin America, held in São Paulo. Putting people first, entrepreneurial attitudes, innovation and creativity are some of the concepts they have always adopted and encouraged in their team. Among the returns of these beliefs and practices is the presence of Magazine Luiza in the ranking, for 20 consecutive years, of “Best companies to work for”. In her career, she has been receiving hundreds of awards and recognitions as an entrepreneur, businesswoman, woman and leader, such as ranking first among business leaders with the best reputation in Brazil in 2018, according to Spanish consultancy Merco, and also this year as the the only Brazilian executive on the WRC – World Retail Congress.
